Deliverance Church Ngong Road (DCN), also known as “The Centre for Transformation,” is located at the Karen Shopping Center, off Ngong Road, Nairobi. We are registered as a Data Controller with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) in Kenya.

  • Sensitive Personal Data: Information regarding your religious beliefs, family details (names of spouse or children for dedication/baptism), and health status (for pastoral care/hospital visitation requests).
  • Financial Data: Records of tithes, offerings, and “Buy-a-Brick” contributions, including M-Pesa transaction details.
  • Visual Data: Footage captured by our on-campus CCTV system and images/video from our “DCN Experience” livestreams.
  • Digital Data: IP addresses and device information when you browse our website.

3. How We Use Your Data

We process your personal data for the following spiritual and administrative purposes:

  • Ministry & Care: To respond to prayer requests, provide biblical counseling, and coordinate home or hospital visits.
  • Communication: To send church updates, newsletters, and information about upcoming events.
  • Donation Processing: To facilitate and track contributions toward the church mission and the “Buy-a-Brick” land project.
  • Safety & Security: To protect our congregants and property through CCTV surveillance.
  • Digital Outreach: To broadcast our worship services globally via livestreaming platforms.

Under the Kenya Data Protection Act, we process your data based on:

  • Your Consent: Specifically for newsletter subscriptions, baptism registrations, and participation in small groups.
  • Legitimate Interest: To fulfill our mission as a religious institution and provide for the safety of our members.
  • Legal Obligation: For financial reporting, tax assessment (where required by the Kenya Revenue Authority), and compliance with national laws.

5. Media, CCTV, and Livestreaming

As a “DCN Experience” participant, please note the following specific protocols:

  • Livestreaming: Our services are broadcast live to reach those unable to attend in person. We provide designated “No-Film Zones” in the sanctuary for those who do not wish to be captured on camera.
  • CCTV: Our entire Karen campus is under 24/7 CCTV surveillance for your protection. These recordings are held securely and only accessed for safety investigations.
  • Minor Consent: We never knowingly capture or broadcast identifiable images of children under 18 without the explicit consent of a parent or guardian.

6. Data Security and Retention

We implement robust technical and organizational measures, including SSL encryption and secure servers, to prevent unauthorized access or accidental loss of your data. We only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or to comply with legal requirements.

In accordance with the 2024 Data Protection amendments, you have the following rights:
